Family Legacy Fund is committed to the welfare of children because they are our nation’s most precious resource. In spite of the wealth of our country, 14 million children are born into poverty, more than 11 million children lack health insurance, 21% of our children are not immunized, and 7.5% of our children are born with low birth weight. Add to these sobering statistics the number of children who suffer from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, such as diabetes, cancer, blood disorders, pulmonary diseases and other ailments and the number of children whose lives are permanently altered by violence, severe trauma and injuries. Because the health and well being of children are so important, Family Legacy Fund exists to help individuals support causes that provide a positive benefit to children through their family foundations.

Family Legacy Fund is especially dedicated to the provision of expert pediatric care and the advancement of groundbreaking pediatric research. Philanthropic support is essential to children’s hospitals and research centers throughout our country that address the unique needs of children. The numbers of children with specialized medical needs who come to these hospitals are increasing. But with declining government support and reductions in medical insurance reimbursements, this means higher costs to provide excellent care. That’s why philanthropy is even more important to these institutions’ ability to provide excellent care to children.

Family Legacy Fund provides individuals with opportunities to fund pediatric care and research through the annual income from their family foundations. It also provides donors with that can be funded on an annual basis.

Philanthropy is key to the future and welfare of children in this country. Individuals who create family foundations at Family Legacy Fund become part of a caring community of philanthropists who make a positive and lasting impact on children’s lives.
